Isabelle Lanser, PhD

Dr. Lanser is a licensed clinical psychologist in Los Angeles specializing in complex psychological evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medical-legal consultations. Utilizing evidence-based diagnostic frameworks and rigorous psychometric testing, she provides objective psychological evaluations spanning clinical and forensic matters, with dedicated expertise in assessments for ADHD, trauma-related conditions, complex mood disorders, substance use, and reproductive and perinatal mental health. Her consultative work bridges clinical science and legal standards, focusing heavily on objectivity, empirical validity, and the intersection of mental health with institutional and medical-legal frameworks.

In addition to her evaluation practice, Dr. Lanser provides expert diagnostic consultation within academic and research environments. She has served as an evaluator and clinical researcher across major institutional projects, including the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge Perinatal Depression research study and the UCLA Screening and Treatment for Anxiety & Depression (STAND) Clinic, where she focused on specialized crisis intervention models and alternative responses to mental health emergencies.

Dr. Lanser received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services and advanced postdoctoral training at the UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center. Her peer-reviewed publications focus on objective measures of psychological functioning, including the physiological biomarkers of stress, the efficacy of evidence-based interventions for depressive disorders, and methodologies for mitigating iatrogenic stress within healthcare and institutional environments—scholarly work that ensures her medical-legal evaluations are anchored in rigorous, peer-reviewed science capable of withstanding strict cross-examination.
